Race: Cedar Invitational (2.95 Miles) 00:15:16, Place overall: 2

AM: 3-Arctic Circle.

PM: 7-Cedar Invitational. Coach Holt told me to run with Trevor and Corey to pace Devin and Ryan. Then by the last mile if we had it in us he wanted us to win it. So Trevor, Corey and I pushed our last mile pretty hard and ended up getting 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. We won with a score of 32 in front of Canyon View and Kearns.

Volunteered for the Saint George Marathon with Washington 11th Ward. Ran 5 on the course with Trevor before the race. Then ran another 5 with Austin and Trevor during the race. It was cool to run with all the racers but it sucked to run back up the hills to the aid station. The marathon was amazing overall though!

AM: 3-Arctic Circle. Felt good and easy like always.

PM: 9-Shinob Kibe. After a talk from coach the varsity guys went out around Shinob Kibe, made even better by the abnormal amount of rain in St. George. After crying about my shoes getting all muddy I fully embraced it. One of the best runs in a while, but also one of the slowest. I don't even care, we enjoyed it. And then striders to add in a mile at the end.

AM: 3-Arctic Circle. Another easy morning run but started out way bad because my knee is hurting. It's nothing major, just from not looking for obsticles before i knelt for prayer last night.

PM: 9-Inside the School. Today two Snow Canyon kids were struck by lightning so our principal and resource officer made us go inside. We worked out all through the halls of the high school. 2 mile (15 min) warm up about. then 6*1000's (6*3 min). and finally 2 mile (15 min) cool down. it wasn't exact because my garmin would keep losing reception in the school but pretty close.

AM: 3-Arctic Circle. Normal easy run.

PM: 6-DI warm up, 2 miles. 4*200 on the track in a relay style. Corey, Devin, and Ryan won. 3 mile run/cool down. Some extra hills at the end to work on our turnover. Even though it was only four 200's it may have been one of the hardest workouts ever. Sounds sad doesn't it.

AM: 3-Arctic Circle. Easy three mile recovering from yesterday's beastly workout. My quads hurt so bad.

PM: 8-Michigan. 800 at 5:30 pace, 2400 at 6:00 pace, 800 at 5:30 pace, 2400 at 6:00 pace, 400 at 5:00 pace. total time- 23:53. goal time- 24:45. Hit the A Standard for two sets. I only wish we had done three sets today so I could have hit the A Standard for three sets.  Good quality work out though.

AM: 3-Arctic Circle.

PM: 10-Washington Fields/Striders. Eight mile loop into Washington Fields, around Nichols Peak and an extension into Pine View neighborhoods. Everybody said their legs didn't feel great. So we planned on icing after our striders, which added another mile, but we never got around to it because of the team party.

PM: 10-Green Springs. I took Kaylee along and we ran with Trevor from his house, past the high school, and up through Green Springs. It was only an eight miler, so we added on two miles aroung Trevors neighborhood. We went a pretty quick pace, but i don't know how impressive, cause i didn't have a watch.

Race: Region 9 Championships (3 Miles) 00:15:44, Place overall: 3

AM: 3-Arctic Circle. Easy mileage to warm up for Region from the weekend.

PM: 8-Region 9 Championships. 3 miles when we got there to get in some mileage. 1.5 warm up before race. And .5 cool down after race. My race wasn't that great, because I came off of a week with a little chest cold. I know it sounds like I'm making excuses, but i really couldn't breathe that well. I stuck in there for a third place finish behind Trevor and Corey. We had a perfect race scoring 15 points, and came out with a Region Championship.

AM: 3-Coral Canyon. It was nice to wake up a little bit later, and to run on my own.

PM: Hospital Run/Wave Hills. Ran an eight mile loop up over Foremaster then to the middle school. Wave Hills at the middle school before heading back to the high school. Wave Hills consist of running between Pine View Middle and Panorama Elementary, up and down the side of the hill and around the ampitheater. Good for learning to run with quick steps and fast up small hills. It was pretty good overall.

AM: 7-Michigan. Today coach had us run a modified version of the work out. 1*800 at 5:30 pace, 1*1600 at 6:00 pace, 1*800 at 5:30 pace, 1*1600 at 6:00 pace, and 1*400 at 5:00 pace. We were hitting the times a little faster today though. I'm not quite sure how much faster, I can't remember the exact time. But our team is looking good for state next week.

AM: 3-Mall Loop. Got up around 8:00 and went around the mall for a three miler to get our morning run in before state. It was pretty cold but felt really nice.

PM: 7-State Race. Once we got there we went for a three miler like we always do before races then we chilled for a long time before our race. We all felt the nervousness before our race as we watched our girls do amazing against snow canyon. We got to the line and had a false start cause someone forgot to tie their shoe. Trevor ended up winning, I got just behind him barely out kicking Joe Christiansen at the finish line for second place, Corey finished eighth, and Devin and Ryan finished 14th and 15th pulling us to a win against Mountain View by over 30 points. I don't know the exact scores but we beat them by a lot.

AM: 5-Sandy. From the hotel I was staying in for the ETS trip i ran a loop around the auto mall almost four times equating to five miles. it was really early in the morning so that i could go tour some colleges, and it kind of scared me cause i was running in Sandy all alone.

PM: 8-Coral Canyon. After getting home from ETS i ran eight miles before bed all alone. I feel like such a loner lately. And i miss running with the team even though it's only been two days, but i missed out on all the school celebration over the state championship.

PM: 10-Grapevine. Four of us met at Devin's house (Me, Michael, Ryan, Devin) to run our long run this week. we had a really nice pace the whole way. We ran past Coaches house on purpose and left him a little message in chalk on his walkway, and we ran out past the Maverick onto the dirt trail that eventually leads to the tunnel. But we didn't get that far, ran back and stopped at the waterfall at the round about to clean off our shoes. They got really muddy, and it wasn't just me complaining about dirty shoes like i always do, they were soaked through with mud. We all felt like it was a pretty good run, it only took us a long time because we stopped so many times. (coaches house, waterfall, rec center). This probably sounds all jumbled but it makes sense to me.

AM: 3-Arctic Circle. As good as always, except my hips and knees hurt a little bit.

PM: 8-Shinob Kibe/Striders. After taking our state pictures, and the pictures we are using in the chocolate milk competition, we went for a run around Shinob Kibe. The dirt (not mud) was a lot better than last time we ran this route in the rain. Michael had a little accident but it's bound to happen to everyone sooner or later. Then striders after which were slow at first, but we got better by the end.

PM: 10.5-3 set Michigan. 3*[1*800 at 2:45 (5:30 pace), 1*2400 at 9:00 (6:00 pace)] + 1*400 at 1:15 (5:00 pace). Really good workout. I hit the A standard along with Corey and Trevor. Corey did amazing beating it by about 40 seconds, I beat it by about 30 seconds, and I don't know how far Trevor beat it by but he was right behind me the whole time. It was cool getting the A standard, cause i have normally only gotten the B standard on 3 sets, and the A standard only on two sets, but today i got it done. It was kind of cold today too which made it nicer, but how nice can a Michigan workout really be?

AM: 3-Arctic Circle. Legs felt so crappy after yesterday but i guess that's why we do these morning run's to get the crap out of our legs. So i'm going to stretch a lot today like i did in the shower this morning.

PM: 7-Green Springs/Striders/Lifting. Easy mileage up green springs then some pretty decent striders when we got back. that was all good. But lifting was not. Because we tapered for state we haven't been lifting for a couple weeks and now my body is killing me. Plyometrics were especially hard.

PM: 9-Ladders. Today's work out I can honestly say was hard but noth the hardest of the year. We were hitting amazing times, or so i am told, i didn't really feel like it. But this is how it went. 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1200, 1200, 1000, 800, 600, 400. and our times were faster on the way down the ladder than on the way up. ending with a 59 second 400. Coach also said that all of our times were faster than they have ever been. To me that is amazing since this is one of the hardest/longest workouts we've done. Also surprising to me i could breathe a lot better in between reps. Today was also the first time Trevor has been beaten in any interval work out. Corey was a beast today too.

PM: 12-I don't even know what to call this run. Trevor and I ran a DI warm up lap then met up with devin back at the school and ran 1200 loops cause we wanted to watch the football game vs. Maple Mountain. After running eight laps we did some on the track after the game then started our first mile of our three mile tempo section on the track then went up and did another DI for the other two miles of sub 6:00 tempo. It was really hard cause there was a ridiculous wind but not as bad a Kannaraville. We showered at the school and stretched in the locker room because all three of us agreed that it would be very beneficial because the run was horrible.
